HUMANITARIAN WORKS

While she filming Tomb Raider in Cabodia, Jolie got transparent idea about humanitarian crises & become personally aware. And lastly she turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spote.

In February - 2001
Jolie started her first field visit & it was a 18 days mission to Sierrs Leone & Tanzania, she got a shock about humanitarian crises.

In the coming month she went to Cambodia for two weeks and after met Afghan refugees in Pakistan & she donated $1 million for refugees in response to an international UNHCR emegency appeal.

August 27 - 2001at Geneva (UNHCR - Headquarters) Jolie named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, because of her great works on humanitarian crises of the world.

She did not stop her activities from here & after that she visited more than 20 countries to see refugees & internally displaces person (IDP) & Jolie stating : "Awareness of the plight of these people. I think they should be commennded for what they have survuved, not look down upon"

She visited the Tham Hin refugee camp - Thailand

With Colombian refugees - Ecuador

With Kakuma Refugee camp - Kenya (Almost from Sudan)

With Angolan refugees - Namibia

Year - 2003

Jolie embarked to Tanzania - to visit the Congolese

With Sri lankan refugees - Sri lanka (North)

With Russian four days mission in North Caucasus
